Booting a new build for the first time.

Hello all. Tomorrow I will be receiving the keyboard for my new build, at which point I will attempt to fire it up for the first time. The plan is to connect the minimum amount of components necessary. This means 1 stick of RAM (4GB), and thats about it. No GPU, no drives. It seems like a good idea to start small and work my way up, considering my lack of experience. Is this a ridiculous plan? This is my first build, and it seems like it took forever to get to this point. Any advice or insights will be greatly appreciated.

Not at all. It should boot to the BIOS if all goes well.

Starting small might be a good idea, but way less thrilling. If you have any boot problems, check this list.
