I hope this is in the right category. I'm about to order my pc so I need an answer quick. The power supply I was going to buy said it did NOT have haswell support and I'm buying a haswell cpu. Does that mean I can't use it? The price also went up on it so could you recommend a power supply for this build under $70? I will be upgrading my graphics card to something like a gtx 870 after it comes out.

Cpu: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Graphics card: Asus Radeon R9 270X 2GB DirectCU II Video Card

Case: Corsair 300r atx mid tower case

Optical drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit, System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging)

You can, but you'll want to disable CL6/CL7 states because they won't work.

I don't know how much power a GTX 870 will require. But 650W should suffice. This XFX 650W is under $70 after MIR. That's the best that I know of.

I would rather order from amazon or newegg. Would this power supply work well? SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W
If it will work well how would I disable CL6/CL7? And is there a downside to doing that? Thanks for your help.

It's an extra 15$ though. Is there a haswell ready 600w+ power supply you can gin under 75$? Including mail in rebates in the price ( if it has one)

I also like to look up the buils of the psu to see if its a sparkle platform or a channelwell or what ever and see if the caps are china or jap. name brand means nothing if its subpar parts in the build quality of the unit
