I had my Seagate external HD plugged into my Sony Blu Ray player. While watching a DVD i unplugged the HD from the Blu Ray. Now when i plug it into any computer i get a message that says that it needs to be formatted. I have ran all kinds of data recover tools and a partition recover tool and ran a chkdsk /r on the drive and every test says that it is fine. when i try to access the drive from a pc it says that it can't be accessed. but i can see it and work with the permissions and the owner of the drive with the disk manager.

HELP i don't want to format this drive as I have a bunch of much needed files that i can't even get to so that i can back up the files.

Solution
I actually got this fixed. Turns out when i unplugged it from the Blu Ray while a DVD was playing because it was in the process of saving something it actually wiped all the security permissions for the drive and all the files. I got some assistance from my IT guy at work to get this fixed.
