I decided to switch to an Intel processor, which meant I had to get a new motherboard as well. I had an as rock extreme 3 970 and now I have an as rock h61m hvs. All I did was take out the old and put in the new, and everything works fine until I get past "start windows normally" then it freezes and restarts. I assume it's a driver issue or something along those lines but I'm not sure. What is my problem?

Changing to a new mobo AND changing from AMD to Intel, you'll NEED to do a clean install to run properly. You've probably need every driver to be changed, along with other stuff, there is no easy way about it. You'll be able to save your data, but have to reinstall all programs.

So the best idea will be to put all the old parts back in, install new drivers (motherboard/processing) , uninstall the old drivers, then try again?

That may or may not work correctly, I know it sounds like work, but the best solution for basically a 'new' system, is a clean install.
You could go thru all that & Still end up doing a re install.
