DVI vs VGA

I currently have my monitor connected to my graphics card through VGA (with DVI adapter). Is it worth the extra $20 to grab a DVI cable, or will I receive the same input through my current setup? Does this have any effect at all on my fps or monitor display?

DVI has a much higher throughput...and VGA can introduce crosstalk and artifacts at higher resolutions. DVI-D all the way.

What monitor and video card is it?

I say it's worth it, because text and pictures are a lot more crisp and the colors are better.

Also if you can, get a dual link dvi cable. It has the capability to push 120hz on capable monitors so if you ever get a 120hz monitor you don't have to buy another dvi cable.
