I have a 24 port switch which works perfectly in my office. I recently dropped cat 5e cable from my attic to my office and master bedroom. I bought punch ethernet wall plates. I connected the switch to the wall in the office. The wall cable goes directly to a simple gig switch in the attic. From this switch, the cable drops to my master bedroom. Testing the cable in the attic (that plugs into the switch) works with my laptop...full connection. Connecting the dropped cable in the master bedroom works plugged into my laptop. However, when I plug this cable into my raspberry pi, I get no connection. Would anyone have any suggestions on why this might be the case or other tests I could run?

Thanks in advance

It's only 100mbit because of my laptop. The Pi is only a 100mbit also. If I plug in a cable from the office switch all the way to the bedroom Pi directly, it works instantly. Something in between is not right according to the Pi then?
