I have a gtx650 nvidia gpu. I'm running windows 8 and currently have two monitors hooked up, one to each of the DVI outputs. Nvidia claims I can hook up a third monitor via the remaining mini HDMI output. Yet when I run a cord from the HDMI to my reciever with HDMI inputs which run to my tv nothing shows on the screen. Unplugging the second dvi input and and leaving the hdmi plugged in solves the problem, showing picture on the tv like it's the second screen, but doesn't solve my three monitor. I can't seem to find anything on the forum or anywhere else to help me solve my specific problem so if anyone can direct me to a post or could help me solve the problem it would be appreciated.

My igpu doesn't have an HDMI output, which is what I want the third monitor to be. It might work to plug my tv in as the second and have my other monitor as the third but i feel like using that layout would be really awkward. My two monitors are on my desk and my TV is behind me as it is part of my home theater in my room.

Yes I did. I read on another site the problem might be I need a bigger power supply. Right now mine is 500 watts. Could that be the problem, I seem to really doubt that would help. Obviously it always MIGHT solve the problem but is it worth upgrading my power supply or does the problem lie somewhere else?

NVidia is going to say the best about their cards. Just because it "can" doesn't mean it can. Why are ypou interested in having 3 monitors?
