Hi all,

I'm having an issue connecting to my wireless router. I'm using a HP Pavilion Vista 32 bit and I cannot connect to my router unless the security is disabled. Well I can connect to the router but I cannot access any web page. I have a Cisco Linksys E1000 router that is using WPA2/WPA mixed mode. Every device I have can connect to it using a wireless method with no problems, be it laptops, tablets, and cellphones.

On the laptop, IPv4 and IPv6 are set to automatically obtain an IP address, it is also set to Automatic Configuration- DHCP. I've also tried the encryption types AES and TKIP. Using ipconfig, I can see that my IPv4 address is 192.168.1.125, Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Default gateway is 192.168.1.1 which I know is normal.

I researched for the past couple of days and mostly all I see is make sure IPv4/IPv6 is set to auto... I don't know what to do now.

Thanks for the help!

I know this is a typical question your ISP would ask you but you didn't mention it in your post so I'll ask you, did you try power cycling your network?

Shut everything off that would connect to the modem / router (you dont actually have to, only do it to the modem and router) for 1 minute as a start, then cut it back on. If this doesn't suffice, go for a full cycle and shut them off for 15 minutes.
