I am trying to upgrade my Dell Inspiron e1505 to work with a Sandisk SSD. The bios has been upgraded to A17 but doesn't appear to be able to recognize the SSD as when booting Win Vista from dvd, one of the installation steps was to select the partition to install Windows but none partition is displayed so the installation cannot go on. The question I have is that is there a bios version can recognize ssd or do I need anything else to make it to work? Thanks.

Has the drive partition been setup yet in Administrative Tools yet? if not go to control panel, administrative tools, Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions Locate the drive, then right click on it and select create new simple volume and then it should show up in the Bios
