I've been fighting with this new build for about 10 hours with no luck. I power on and all fans and LEDs turn on, no error sound from the mobo. gigabytes logo pops up onto the screen and quickly disappears. Then I get the following message.
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key"
I use ctrl-alt-delete to restart the process and hammer delete to get to the bios but when I registers that I hit delete I get a black screen. I'm guessing that it has to be trying to boot from my blank ssd.
When I press a key the same message is displayed again below the first. Here are my system specs.
Gigabyte 970a-ds3p
AMD FX 8320
Gigabyte 280x
Crucial mx100 256gb SSD
Sony Optiarc DVD drive
ThermalTake New Soprano Case
Kingston red Hyper X 2x4gb 1866mhz
Update: I tried what foxvox suggested and now the gigabyte screen flashes before changing to a black screen with no cursor. When the screen changes to black I get one short audible beep from the mobo. The screen resolution also changes from 800x600 to 640x480 on its own. I am connected to a Visio tv to the gpu through hdmi. Thank you all for the assistance
