z87 MotherBoard with i7 4790k?

The i7 4790k says it is not compatible with a z87 motherboard but I have been told that a bios update will fix this. I had to order a new MB because my old one ended up having socket pins bent when I tried to put the dust cover in after selling
my 4770K and buying a new 4790K. From what Im reading on the Asus Maximus VI Formula Forums, the above bios that I need can only be installed with a cpu in place (other than the only one I own, the 4790K). I dont know anyone with a i5 or i7 1150 socket cpu, so I may end up having to order a pre programmed Bios Chip for my board. I cant believe I bent the pins on my MB with that dust cover.

Please let me know how you make out with this !!

same problem here just bought a asus maximus vI hero motherboard with an i7 4790k system wont boot.
tomorrow get an old dual core socket 1150 or rma the motherboard and trade it for the asus maximus hero vII with z97 chip.
