Is it possible to purchase adapters for my old JVC RX-450 stereo receiver so that it can: 1) play my old LPs, CDs and even cassette tapes wirelessly throughout the house/outdoors and 2) so it can also play music wirelessly from my iPod and/or iPad? I'm trying to mix old and new here and am not sure if it's possible -- thanks!

Solution
You could connect one of these to the tape record outputs on the receiver:
http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-Home-RTX-Bluetooth-Transmitter/dp/B00713RSE0/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1404834450&sr=1-4&keywords=bluetooth+transmitter+audio
This would send whatever is being played to bluetooth speakers.
Your iPod doesn't have wifi so would have to be connected to the receiver with an audio cable. You should be able to go direct from the iPad to the speakers via bluetooth.
A more elegant and easy to use way to go is to use Sonos.
