so im going to build a computer and all the parts are coming tomorrow!! ok my question is can a humid room be a much better enviroment to build a pc? since electricity will have a way to disperse more easily trhoughout the molecules of water. another method is to wipe my hardwood table with a moist towel to remove any ESD and then put a ESD strap and attach it to my new empty computer case which is unplugged? will my ESD strap work or the PC case has to be connected to the wall outlet? please answer all my questions!
can these methods avoid ESD on my pc components??

having room at 40 percent humility is fine. it when room in the winter gets low is when you and your socks can build up a charge. a wood table is fine. dont wet it down or get your rig to wet it not good for the pcb..can cause rust or a cap (paper ones to swell and go bad.). biggest esd maker will be walking around the table or the pc. if you have a lazy susan that yu can spin the case when working on your rig it keep you from getting up and making a charge.
oh ok im gonna get a case and when i use the ESD strap and i ground to the case, do i need to plug in the case to the wall outlet to get the grounding effect? or touching any piece of metal works fine? (the case will be empty)
also if i get 60% humidity environment while building my pc wouldn't that be better? use a humidifier right next to me would be the best solution? plus ESD strap?

to much water on a pc is bad. only use hum in the winter and place it 6 feet or more away from a pc.
most pc parts are gold/copper. copper and water turns copper from gold to green when that happens on a pbc board yu can kill a trace. dont plug the power supply in. new mb and power supply supply 5v now to the mb for sleep/hibernation
yu can zap a pc with 5v. .
