Trying to decide which gpu to get

R9 290, is allaround better at specs than GTX 770. But it does cost more too. So if you can, buy the R9 290, it's a bit better, but if you don't want to spend more on the gpu, get the GTX 770.

4GB is overkill for gaming. A 2GB graphics card can handle the latest games easily.

It depends what you need it for. Yes, gaming. But what kind? If it's the sort where you mod a game like skyrim with 60 texture mods then

the GPU with the most VRAM will be best suited. What about your screen resolution?

@Fluzzyy You can't just compare specs and say the one with the higher spec is the better one automatically, when it's different architectures.

Yes, i know. But i also know for a fact, that the R9 290 IS better than the GTX 770 in gaming in most cases. Yes, ofcourse they are built on different architectures, and they have alot of different features, that the other one doesn't.(ex. Nvidia = Advanced PhysX, AMD = Mantle) But in gaming, FPS wise, the R9 290 performs better in most cases.
