conhost.exe and powercfg.exe repeatedly opening and closing causing RAM increase

My computer:

Lenovo Y580
Intel Core i7
8 GB RAM
Windows 8
1 TB HDD

Hi, I've been having an issue with RAM usage on my Windows 8 laptop and I think I've pinpointed the issue. My RAM would continue to increase without any programs being opening (only background processes running) until it got to 100% in the task manager, with no application using nearly that much memory.

So, I downloaded RamMap and took a look, and under the processes section it showed thousands upon thousands of conhost.exe and powercfg.exe instances using 4kb each. The amount of them seemed to increase as the computer continued to be turned on.

I then downloaded Process Explorer and discovered that powercfg.exe and conhost.exe are continually being opened and closed, but remaining in my memory (according to RamMap).

I've run a full scan with Avast and have found no viruses present. I'm out of ideas as my RAM is leaking at an alarming rate and the only way to fix it is to reset the computer. Anyone have any ideas?

They're actually Windows processes (conhost is used to manage the command console and powercfg is used for power management options), but I managed to figure out how to fix this on my own.

It turns out the culprit was a virtual surround sound tool offered by Razer, and it had privileges to keep my computer out of sleep mode even if it had been X amount of hours. Since I figured out this RAM usage happens only after I've closed my laptop one or more times and put it into hibernation mode, I figured this was the culprit. It somehow bugged out the powercfg.exe command run when the lid of the laptop is closed and windows kept trying to re-run it again and again, slowly but surely bloating my memory.
