My Dell OptiPlex 360 Desktop Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 x 2 will not support more than 991.1 mib. I can find no changeable settings in bios.
Searching the internet, I found this one for sale refurbished
Dell OptiPlex 360 Desktop Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 (2.50GHz, 800MHz, 2MB) 2gb ram.
Are they not the same?

Per the system specs I found, the Optiplex 360 can accept up to 4GB of RAM (2x2GB DDR2-800).

A change of ram doesn't register in meminfo /bios i tried to put a pair of kingston KVR66702N5K2/1GB in botts fine but will only register the original 2 dimm512x8 if I remove one Kinston it says 1 dimm512x8. I have a pair of pc2-5300 2GB that wouldn't boot at all
