Is my CPU faulty?

So I've recently bought a AM3+ board with a FX-6300. I have a r9 270x, 600w power supply and a bitfenix shinobi as the case.

I finished the build and turned it on, and it worked. It was working until i was half way to booting up windows 8, and then it froze. I restarted the whole thing but my monitor just showed up with a "no signal" message saying that i have nothing connected, even when i have both my DVI and HDMI connected to my R9 270x. I took apart my parents computer, who are using the Athlon X2 240.

I've swapped and tested out every single part of my desktop on my parents desktop, and they all work. However, when i put the FX-6300 into their AM3+ board, the monitor showed up with "no signal".

When I put their athlon into my AM3+ board, the computer miraculously showed me a bios message telling me to press F1 to continue. The question that I want to ask is, is it really my CPU that is acting up?: I've been reading and a lot of people are saying that cpus have an extremely low chance of failing. I was sure that i did not touch the cpu pin nor bend them. but i'm just so frustrated and confused right now.

Any help would be great. Thanks guys
