My current situation:
1. I shut my computer off
2. Wait 10 - 20 seconds
3. Computer turns back on

What I've tried:
1. Checking if the "Wake on LAN" option was disabled (it already was)
2. Running "c:>sfc /scannow"

When the computer turns back on, I shut it back down by pressing the physical power button and that seems to keep it shut down.

I'm not sure what you need to know about my computer but here are some specs:
ASRock H97M Pro 4
i7 4770k 3.5Ghz
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB (which has Windows 7 on it)

If you need any other information, please let me know!

Thank you!

Open start screen, and move your mouse to the right pane.
Enter "Power Options" in the Search field.
Click Settings and select Change what the power buttons do from the left pane that appears.
In System Settings, scroll down to the Shutdown settings section and uncheck Turn on fast startup(recommend).

Thanks for the reply. I'm not on Windows 8, I'm on Windows 7. I do not have that option available to me (well, not that I could find).

check if the wake up lan is on....enter UEFI BIOS and go to Settings -> Advanced. Next go to Wake Up Event Setup. Inside you should find an option that will allow you to disable wake up event on LAN. Restart Windows, shut down the computer and see if it works.....

I've already mentioned that I made sure that Wake on LAN was disabled. I have recently cleaned out the case and all software is freshly installed.

Any other ideas?

Will taking the battery out of the motherboard reset the settings? I've just solved another problem I was having and I would like to not reset my BIOS settings to default.
