is the cpu socket ol all mobo in the same place?

i have a spec-01 case a and the cooler i have didnt fit so i modded the case a little but now im getting a new mobo so i was wondering if the cpu socket is in the same place like if you stacked them on top of each other

Most consumer grade motherboards have the CPU socket in roughly the same place. Not exactly in the same place generally as differences in memory dimm slots, power delivery circuitry, Msata slots etc can add up on the CPU end of the motherboard, forcing the manufacturer to adjust the CPU socket to maintain clearances etc for cooler installation etc.
