Hey, I need some advise on my home network. My main Adsl modem router is on one side of the house. I have an access point connected to the main router via Ethernet which provides wireless/wired connection to the other side of the house, so good coverage in the house. Now I would like to extend this coverage even further eg into the garden by adding another access point via Ethernet. Is this possible, do I connect the 3rd access point into the main router or into the 2nd access point?

Any advise would be appreciated
Thank you

You can plug it into the primary router or the access point; when you congiure a router as an access point the other LAN ports become just like a switch so you can plug devices into those lan ports. Now there will be a fraction of a second more latency by chaining them together, but i doubt you will notice it at all.
You can connect as many access points as you want in your house, they just need to be configured correctly to be an access point. You will just want to make sure that the wifi channels do not overlap (use 1, 6, and 11) and are not being saturated by your neighbors.

Thank you for your quick response. I will ensure that channels do not overlap. I'm still unsure about connecting the 3rd access point. Do I connect the 3rd access point to the 2nd access point or to the main router via Ethernet.

thanks
