Hi, i was wonder what the best Pci-E wifi card is for my current situation.

I have an z97 Asus Maximus 7 Hero and it dosen't seem to come with a wireless adapter.

I'm roughly 8 meters or so away from my router and despite being plugged in, i have rocky internet so i thought i'd just get a wireless adapter.

Something good quality but not so much that i need to take out a bank loan on :D

Thank you.

I understand wired is always better and more reliable however.

I have already reinstalled my drivers, replaced my router, replaced my cable. My other devices such as my macbook and phone have no issues whatsoever on wireless.

I can't help but think this is an issue with my motherboard but i strongly doubt that since i just made my new rig about a week ago.

Rocky is i will have internet for an undisclosed amount of time before it drops. It's completely random.

I have reinstalled drivers, Reinstalled the OS. Reset/renew my tccp and connection settings in Cmd window. Pretty much everything plus a bag of chips.

Have you tried setting the computer up with Static IP? Tried dissablng IPV6?
Did you upgrade any other drivers when this problem started happening, there have been some people to have intermetient internet after updating VGA drivers.
Have you tested another computer pluged into that ethernet cable going to your PC?

Since the issue is intermetient that removes a bunch of potential settings issues.
Given that it is intermetient, if all other equipment is good then there is a high likleyness that the problem is the ethernet nic on the motherboard

Yes.

I've done all the networking things i've can, i've replaced the cable and the router, my modem definitely isn't the issue, already reinstalled drivers and OS.

By reasonable deduction, the issue has to lie with the motherboard.

Still contemplating if i want to send it back to Asus since the shipping and time inbetween is just a huge hassle.

If i can find a decent Pcie Wifi card that works, i can probably overlook the issue since the games and editing i do don't always require me to be online.
