I am looking to run Supermicro X10SAE with an E3 xeon and 32 GB ram.
Main use: Workstation
I know it supports Unbuffered ECC so I want that.

But I am not sure about some other features:
Does it matter if the ram is 1333 or 1600?
Is the performance benefit worth it?
What about the L ones that are on 1.35V, is it worth it?

Also can you recommend me some kits.

Best to check what ram is supported by your CPU and motherboard.
Server boards don't usually give you flexibility to chose what you want. It will clearly say "YOU MUST BUY THIS!"
Also crucial website has pretty good memory finder so check that.

Well, the supported list is short - like only 2-3 chips, so that's not really an option.

I can get either Kingston or Supermicro ram. Strange thing is - the Supermicro branded ram is not on the supported list on their mobos.

What's available:
KVR16LE11/8I
KVR16LE11/8
KVR16E11/8
8G DDR3L 1600 ECC KINGSTON
8G DDR3 1333 ECC UNB SMICRO
KINGSTON 8G DDR3 1600 ECC

as named in the shops near me

Also there are no kits with 2 x 8 GB, only 1 x 8 GB. Should I expect dual channel to work good with a non-kit ram?
