Okay, I've searched for a problem like this and haven't found anything.

I have a USB wireless adapter from Rosewills. When I first boot into windows it works fine. I have the computer set to never go to sleep, but if I leave the computer for a bit the internet no longer works when I come back. I try disabling and reenabling the network adapter, but either it wont disable at all (no response from computer when trying) or when I try to reenable it it hangs. The "Diagnose" utility can't find anything wrong. In order to restore wireless function I have to restart the computer. This problem seemed to show up the same time I started having restart issues. If I restart the computer from windows it will hang out the shutdown screen. The only way to restart is by shutting down using the power button.

My theory is that it is a power supply issue, but I haven't found any reliable info to back that up. I did recently add a new video card, but it's rated for a power supply with my wattage. Is there a way to check power allocation in the system?

This would have nothing to do with your power supply, if the system hard shutdown on its own that would be a different story.

Try uninstalling the drivers for the usb stick and see if windows will shut down normal.
Have you installed any other programs/hardware since then?
Have you ran any antivirus scans?

I have run two scans, bitdefender and malwarebytes. Nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Didn't changed anything. I've also had the dvd drive intermittently decide it wouldn't register. It is the weird "ghost in the machine" type problems that lead me to think it may be the power supply. I don't think there is anything wrong with the power supply, but that it is just barely not providing enough power. I bought a new video card not too long ago, rated for a 300watt power supply, which is what I have, and it works fine, but now these other small weird problems have been showing up with little to no connection to each other. Today I returned to my computer and the wireless said it was connected fine, but I could not connect through the browser. Reboot, and everything's fine. I can sit on my computer for hours actively using it and it's fine, but if I leave it for a little while (long enough for the screen to shut off) than the internet is dead when I come back. Again, I tried to fix this by keeping the computer from sleep, but that didn't change anything.

Possible that you just have a crappy usb dongle (not that any usb dongle is that good).

What are your full system specs?
