Need some router help, cant get into netgear router

Im trying to change the settings of my netgear router but everything i do to try to get in doesnt work, the 192.168.1.1 and 192.1768.1.1 dont work, neither does routerlogin.net, how can i get into the router? i got into my trust linksys wrt45g no probelm but not the netgear, thanks!

You're going to have to reset the router to factory defaults and then use the default username and password. See the user manual for your router for details.

I've held the reset down and reset it.. Don't have a user manual... And whenever I enter the 192.168.1.1 it brings me to verizon fios login for my fios router. I can't figure out how to get into the negesr one

You're going to have to get the manual for your router. You can normally download it from the manufacturer's web site.

okay and how will this help me get into it? the issue is that whenever i type in the ip for reset router it brings me to my verizon router dns search how do i get around this?
its telling me that verizon is unable to find the routerlogin.net adress

I'm suspecting overall connection weirdness/misconfiguration.

What do you have, how is it configured, and what are you trying to do?

lets start with this... last year up untill this year i used my fiois router as my main wireless router, but the signal doesent go threw cement well so i took a cat 5 and went lan to lan from the fios to a linkys 54g with a sperate ssid.. this worked fine untill i could no longer do it so i riped the cable out and put the linkys in a box. then i rememberd i have a netgear wrn1000 v2 from when we had comcast... what im trying to do is soemhow place the router on the padio and just plug it in, no cat 5 cable. and i need to do this with just my fios router and the netgear one.. (but i cant get into the netgear one to change the settings!

You have to set it up properly as an AP first. Also, try to not get both gateways messed up. If all your routers use the same IP, that's a problem.

i got it all setup with ddwrt and connected wireless but its rediculusy slow! like it took 3min for pandora to load and then it skips alot... any ideas how to fix this? i assume the fios router in a wireless n or whatever and the linkys is a b and g

Wireless a, b, and g are slow. Replace it. Minimum I would go for is wireless n. AC is definitely better.

With wireless g, it'll be 54 Mbit/s, but average use case is ~20 Mbit/s. With wireless n, you get ~150 Mbit/s on network adapters.

i dont really want to spend money on replacing it, it works but its slow so ill live with it
the netgear router i have, a wnr1000 is a n router but i reset it multiple times and cant get into it to change its settings
