Display Resolution Changing Questions

I have what is probably a strange question. I'm wondering if I bought a laptop that had a native display resolution of 1920 x 1080 and changed it to 1600 x 900....would it look worse than a laptop that had a native resolution of 1600 x 900 or exactly the same? thanks in advance.

The monitor's native resolution will always be the resolution that looks best on that monitor.

However, the difference is going to be absolutely negligible, and furthermore, an overall higher-rez capable monitor is a more useful thing for eventualities.
