dell xps m1530 display issue

When i start my m1530 running Windows 7 up i just get a black screen so i hooked up a HDMI lead to my TV, i can see my display ok ? tried a system restore and that fixed it for 2 days then next time it happened the system restore didn't work? any ideas?

Maybe the screen itself is dying? You can get a new one online for not too much money and I know dell is good about having manuals online on how to replace a lot of the components.

Thanks mate i'm going to wip the screen off and check connections otherwise i'll stick to my new LED 32" monitor! ha..
i have pretty much discounted all the stuff about win7 black screen, video card, etc....
