hello, im building a new rig, im planing to buy asrock 990FX Extreme3 and amd x8 8350 (they are quite cheap now if you buy with cash) but im kinda bumping when it comes to ram,.

On asrock page there is a list of ram that i can use but its so slim and when im looking at 2100mhz section it shows only 2 rams and they are 2gb sticks., so is it for the fact that asrock didnt test all the ram on the market ( what seems logical to me) or it really supports only those rams that are on the list?
.. btw im planing to buy corsair vengeance red 2133 (2x4 gb kit) or G.SKILL Ares series (F3-2133C11D-8GAO) same freq and also a kit or patriot viper3 (PV38G213C1K) also same spec...

here is the memory list from asrock http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/990FX%20Extreme3/?cat=Memo...

More about : asrock 990fx extreme3

look over at the g-skill foprums and find your board and see whats being said about there memory as with the other brands
memory can be funny this kit of g-skill did not work well in a asus am3+ board but it works real fine in this intel z87 board and these sticks were on both tested memory lists also that chips memory controller is rated to 1866 so higher memory is considered overclocked ... but if you look at the intel list they tested a lot of high speed memory and intels memory controller is rated for 1600 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme6/?cat=Memo...

so as with me I now wonder if the memory controller in the AMD chips are just that weak seeing how this memory I use did not do well with AM3+ but works just fine on intel [??]

so 1st i should focus on 1800 mhz ram? if 2100 is oc and buying ram that isnt on the list and then trying to get it to work at 2100 would be kinda dumb and probably a fail. so anyway what brand do you suggest i buy for that board, what brand is most compatible with amd am3+? i can choose from patriot, gskill, corsair and kingston

well you should research it first at them company's forum sites but with any memory if you get a finicky board there may be issues these brands [ patriot, gskill, corsair and kingston ] all make good quality stuff

I really don't know what to tell you it either works or it don't
