290x is better than 770, but he has a 290 listed which is comparable. Cheapest of each= 770 is 290$, 290 is 340$, 290x is 490$

The Sapphire Radeon Tri-X R9 290X OC 4 GB GDDR5 has a 33% performance advantage over an NVIDIA Reference Design GeForce GTX 770 Card so how is that a comparable deal?

that's an awesome price for a card that generally matches the GTX780, has 4GB Vram and an excellent cooler.

The R7 290 is still a faster card than the GTX 770 by ~17%. Based on the prices you quote that seems to match the price difference.

Depends on the site you go to and what tests they run. I prefer AMD cards, I was giving him options.
