Hi all,
Before one year I built my first gaming computer. I use Zalman LQ320 watercooler for my i7 4770K processor, overclocked to 4.5 GHz, but I am afraid of leaks. I use this cooler with really amazing temps for year without any problems. Would you trust Zalman? Or would you stay with this cooler or would you switch to another air cooler?

I dont mind temp. differencies around 5°C (+-).

With any liquid cooler there is a *chance* it may leak, be it a closed loop or open loop. However you have been going for a year without a problem so it seems like your installation was done well. unless something changed (the computer falling ect..) then there is no reason it should spontaneously leak.

IF it did for some reason its not the end of the world. The coolant in most cases is non conductive. Just make sure your computer is off and then clean the motherboard with 99% rubbing alcohol and a soft toothbrush. or get some specialty electronics cleaner. Klein Tools makes a number of cleaners for circuit boards.

Additionally if you DID have a leak within the warranty period, contact Zalmen, they are a company with a very good...

Why do you think it would leak?

Zalman is a high end product, if they've put their name on it you can trust it.

Once the cooler is mounted, and in a static position, test run, and there's no leaks from the initial installation, confirming you have one that has received zero shipping damage, there's really no reason for it to just start leaking, so don't worry about it.

Maybe I am a bit paranoid(sorry for that), but I do not want to ruin my hardware, beacause I have read that some "closed loop" coolers leaked. The cooler is mounted in a place where it should be. I have never stretched it, twisted into an unnatural position or even accidently hit it by a screwdriver. And in fact it was not mounted by me, but by an reliable IT professional.

But yestersay I have just tightened the screws to make sure it wont fall. No agression, just decently tightened. So you think it would be alright for about next...2 years at least mabe?
