My GTX 780 is not being detected in my Device Manager. My old HD 7850 is recognized. But not the GTX 780 Hall of Fame.

A quick list of what I've tried:
-Re-seating cables and RAM
-Switching PICe x16 slots
-Clearing drivers with DDU and treating it as if fresh install
-Swapping PSUs (My old one might not have enough voltage)
-Checking PSU voltages in bios (Around 12.3v for the Rosewill 1000w Lightning)
-Using a different GPU (Currently works)
-Resetting CMOS
-Unplugging PSU for 30 minutes (Worked once. PC shut off at at Win8 lock screen)
Beep code: a single 2 second beep. PC turns on, HDD spins, then PC restarts.

Read on for more description:

I have tried a 600w Coolermaster PSU (two 12v rails that max at 18A) and a Rosewill 1000w Lightning. Both gave me the same result. The 780's fans would ramp up to 100%, the lights would flash, but nothing would display.

I have been using the 780 for a little over 6 months for surround gaming at 5760x1080p. It was solid until the day I was mid race in Grid: Autosport and my PC shut off. I was able to get to the lock screen in Windows 8.1 one time afterwards, around 30 minutes later, but never again. I use MSI afterburner and Speccy to track my temps. Neither my CPU or GPU were above 75°C. I also use MSI Afterburner's temp target feature so I would like to rule out overheating as the cause of death.

As for the beep code, I broke my flimsy motherboard speaker while swapping PSUs. I heard it a few times before hand though. There was a distinct difference between the regular beep and the beep after my displays stopped displaying. Beforehand, it was a short ~1/2 second beep. Afterwards, it was a 2 second beep. I have an AWARD bois. Reaseatting both the PSU cables and the RAM did not fix the 2 second beep. Any idea what this beep code could mean?

Specs:
Fx 8320
GTX 780 HOF
Rosewill 1000w Lightning
Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 Mobo

Is there any hope left for this $500+ GPU? I took me a lot of saving up to buy. At six months, I'm not too sure if I got my money's worth. If all else fails, can some one recommend me a better GPU for Ultrawide resolutions that's ~1k? Thanks for your time! Pray for me brothers.

Hi mate what was the +12v rating on the other PSU? You've stated the "600w Coolermaster PSU (two 12v rails that max at 18A)" which is astonishingly low (unless dual rails work differently?) So what was the other rated at?

I used that for my starting budget build and upgraded to the Rosewill Lightning shortly after. The Rosewill Lightning maxes out a 83Amps on a single +12v Rail.

That's much more like it, one beast of a PSU the other must definitely have struggled to power that 780 and it's very lucky you swapped PSU as I'm sure it would have broke down the line... Going to have a think about it and see if I can think of anything and I'll let you know.

I would agree with you on it being a beast of a PSU if I was not in my current situation. At this point Im considering replacing it with a Corsair CM 750. Thanks for the feedback mrsweet!

ok my eyeballs are swore from reading but here are your motherboard beep codes:

1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error

1 long, 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
Continuous short beeps: Power error

These are the two it was closest to. It was not two beeps nor continuous. It was a single 2 second beep. I will again try to reseat the RAM and GPU.

Yeah definitely worth going over the obvious, also in the BIOS is the PCIE set to 16x I'm not at all sure if that would make a difference but beings as you've tried all you can think of it's worth putting things out there.

So I currently have both my 780 and HD 7850 on a PCIe X16 slot. Should I set my motherboard to initially detect a PCI slot or a PEG slot? It was set to PCI and I changed it to PEG 1. It didn't solve anything but I did feel like I was getting somewhere so that's a plus!
But lets get back on track here. New PSU or dead GPU?
