Hey guys I finally built my new computer today and I saw the idling temps on the BIOS screen as 42C I have no clue if it should be lower or not, I still need my HDD to finally complete it though which is in customs at the border -_-

No problem sorry if the comment sounded a bit aggressive I just got done building it and as It was my first computer it was a pain in my ass, However something made me laugh by the end I was testing the computer out seeing if it would run and I was wondering why it wouldn't come on, I press the restart button by mistake and what do you know! I mixed up the Restart and power button xD

Huh, I'm not overclocked at all but then again I don't have a water cooler :) I have the Cooler Master Hyper EVO 212 may not be the best but sure is good for the price

Huh.. A second fan I never thought of that.. I think I'll stick with the EVO for sometime maybe get an extra fan like you said, But holy f*ck that thing was hard to install -_- Worst thing is the writing is upside down right at the window :'( may OCD is going a bit crazy but not going through that trouble!

Nice setup, and congrats.
evo 212 is a very good air cooler if not a tad tall.
see if a second fan helps or you may want to re-apply the thermal paste.

Good luck

What you're seeing as far as temps go is your system bios regulation of your CPU fan. It is entirely possible that your motherboard
supports a software fan controller scheme that could bring down the idle temps. I'm using the Noctua NH U14S and get idle temps (cores) of around 29-33 at room temp 30°C and clock speed @4.3 Ghz. I use the ASUS software that came with my Maximus MB. The idle temperature isn't the problem; it's what happens when your system is under full load and regularly approaches the 80°C and above level.
You'll have a better overview when the machine is fully set up and running.
