Problem with Temps

Hi, so recently I have noticed that HWMonitor will give me temp readings of my FX-8350 in the low to mid 50s. now that is really close to the cutoff point of my processor yet I have had no issues like throttling or bluescreens, freezes, etc... My question is, is it possible that my computer is thinking that it's hotter that it actually is? I have reapplied thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5) and I even changed heatsinks as the stock one that came with the 8350 just didn't seem to work correctly. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Solution
Right now the only program that will give u an accurate reading for the FX series it's AMD's own Overdrive, which will report how far the cores are from hitting their thermal ceiling (i.e. if it shows 15ºC it means it's at 15ºC from hitting the 72ºC thermal limit).

Yeah the stock fan isn't that good, most ppl tend to buy an aftermarket cooler when getting a FX cpu due to the amount of heat it generates, the only other thing to check would be the airflow in your case, but that only should affect a couple of ºC.

I was surprised to see a reply on this post, thanks for your input in the time since opening this discussion I went ahead and bought a Hyper 212 EVO. Thanks for your help.
