Hi,
Im getting my new 250gb samsung 840 evo delivered tomorrow and was wondering if there is any way to do a clean install of win 8 on my new drive without a DVD or USB dongle, as I removed my dvd drive for my NZXT h440 case and dont currently have a 8-16gb USB dongle?

Ive thought about doing a freash install on my current HDD and cloning it to the SSD and then swaping the drives, will that work? or i could possibly dig out old DVD drive for install only, and remove after...

What you think, is there an easier way im overlooking, or can yous see any problems, etc...?

Agreed.. but if Windows 7 isn't already burned to a DVD I'd say it would be possible to copy over windows to an SSD and have the partition set up in the same time as it would take to burn... and it's so lightning fast to install windows on the SSD compared to...

Can you pop your SSD in another computer thats running Windows? if so create a 10GB partition on your SSD and copy the Windows 7 install files to that partition, make it active there's some more steps but basically you can instal windows from your SSD to your SSD.. see the 10GB partition will act like a USB drive and then when it asks where to install windows you just choose the 240GB partition you left over :)

That is far more work than just hooking up a DVD drive.
