If you have the money to spend intel will offer you more raw performance, but it comes at a premium.
Overall I would rank both equal. AMD is the better budget option where intel runs performance.

well after suffering enough with my last AM3+ build and did not see where AMD offered anything newer or better than what I been running for years I went intel for my first time in like 14 or so years and I must admit it was a good move AMD will be hard pressed to get me back and I'm a fan boy no more
