So I recently bought a h100i from amazon which has not yet arrived and I am wondering how I should set up fans. I will have to remove a top 140mm case fan and move it elsewhere in the case. should I put it in the front and take the 120mm fan from the front and put it on the side vent or just put the 140mm on the vent. on the corsair h100i should I put the fans on the top of the radiator or under the radiator and should I set them up for intake or exhaust?

I am new to building PCs, but this is what I did:

-I put my radiator in the top compartment, fans underneath sucking air in. It might not be the best way, but it's working fine so far.

-I put the 140mm fan in the front, and moved the 120mm to the side panel (exhaust).

there's a link in my sig if you want to see the pics

so have an intake on the bottom as well as a exhaust on the side... im still confused about the top though I know that in the interest of airflow top should be exhaust but u also want to keep the cooling fluid cool which would be achieved through intake through the radiator

Thanks for the link FoxVoxDK, reading now...

Like I said, this was my first PC build. The way I have it set-up has been working fine with normal temps for a couple months now. I have read some mixed thoughts about side-mount fans; however, if using as an intake you will want a dust filter (not included with the Phantom 410)

im pretty sure the dust filter is included... on the side there is an area in which there is an air filter that looks the same as the one on the rear exhaust

on the bottom of the case (below power supply), there is a removable dust filter. That's the type I'm talking about, probably filters dust better than the holes in the side of the case.

I am also confused about which way the H100i fans/radiator should be mounted, it DOES give you the recommended fan configuration in the manual that comes with it. Not sure if I followed that (I think I did), but it fits in the case well and temps are fine.
