So i just bought a new computer and it cost me a ton, so pretty frustrated over the problem im having atm

Edit: Problem is random shutdowns
Running realtime monitoring on all components and nothing gets hot, i can play Watch dogs on ultra settings for a entire day and nothing happends, then suddenly it boots while idle in windows, or doing basicly anything, gaming/browsing/youtubing.

Checked all cables, resat all settings, nothing is clocked and while on full load in game in watch dogs on ultra, nothing CPU stays at around 60-70, GPU around 50-60.

been reading abit on the forums here meanwhile my computer turn on and off, and started a prime95 stress-test to see if i could see any changes in voltage / temperature while the test is running.

vYC3hhG.jpg

My system:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU
Corsair RM750, 750W PSU
Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1600MHz 16GB
Gigabyte G1.SNIPER Z97, Socket-1150
Intel Core i7-4790K
MSI GeForce GTX 780Ti Gaming LE 3GB
and some ssd's

Noticed that the CPU temp suddenly went up like 20 degrees (Celsius) and that the vold spiked a TON when it happend, i dont know what that has to do with anything, but i assume alot.

If you need any more info or want me to do anything please let me know!

computer just instantly turns off, no bluescreen, warnings or anything.
Then after a few seconds it boots up again like nothing happend. Puzzling ! Sometimes it dosent wanna reboot for a few seconds, so i gotta chill for a good 10+ seconds then it boots again.
Sometimes it tripple and quadboot and screens stay black untill it boots properly.
Had the computer for about 5 days now, and the first time it happend was after day 3, today it happend like 5 times so starting to get annoying.

The CPU VCORE voltage jumps aint a problem?
i just saw the huuuuge diffrance after the test and assumed it was a big problem, specially since the CPU jumped 20+ degrees aswell (after already been at full load for 40 minutes and max temperature was around 65-75ish

vcore is supposed to jump up in prime95 due to AVX2 instructions I believe
happens to my 4670K, normally at 1.225, prime will raise it to 1.28ish

you may want to check CPU temperatures in gaming load and see how they behave

Quickest thing to do is go in to Control Panel > System (Windows Key+Pause/Break) and then under Advanced, you should see "Startup and recovery", click Settings and you can disable Automatic restart on system failure.

Next time a BSOD occurs, you can see what the cause is.

I started the HWmonitor program a while ago, and was monitoring everything on one screen while playing watch dogs on the other screen, highest temperature monitored was 77 for CPU and 67 for GPU even at ultra settings, and i also had MSI afterburner up together with prosess manager to check that both CPU and GPU where heavy loaded.

The screen i posted, i started HW monitor about 15 min before i stress-tested with Prime95.
CPU would never go that high in any of the games i play.

Without vertical synch on the GPU was at 100% load all the time, never any heat issues, CPU spiked abit more but pretty high load overall aswell.
What i really struggle with is that when i stresstest, and play heavy load stuff, it seems to not happen that often.

Just before i came here i was browsing for a new tower (not really happy with this one) and while i was browsing and chilling at the web, my computer rebooted 2-3 times in a matter of maybe 1 hour.

Found a review about my PSU and apperently its a pretty bad one, even though its corsair, seems i managed to buy the Corsair RM750, 750W PSU instead of the Corsair AX760 PSU i was suggested from here.

The budget i dont really care about, used almost 3000$ already on this build, so another 1000$ wont matter much, i just want it to work proper!
Not mainly for gaming, but wanted a extremly powerfull system so i can play some stuff aswell :)

did a new stresstest with both GPU and CPU at the same time, unfortunately Aida64 crashed after a while so couldent get the stats out that privided average temp and min/max more accurate with a curve etc, had it running for 20 minutes, with both CPU and GPU at 100% load the entire time, GPU maxed at 65, CPU at 88 after crash, 81 before crash.

dunno why but the CPU average temp the first 15 min was 78 degrees, max 81, but suddenly it spiked 6-7 degrees then back down again.
(as you can see in the performance CPU window it was at 100% load for a while, and my computer been on for almost 2 hours now wich most of the time been stress-tested, no problem so far)

The settings u wanted me to change is now changed!

sorry lol thought view reliability history was under event viewer :p

but ye found one error there that might look relevant in the history

i assume its the PSU that are unstabile, based on the review i saw it might be a possibility, i dont have any spare parts at the moment, and it happends at such random time,s its really hard to figure out :/
i have to test each part for days to be sure, so might aswell just use the 45 days return policy and try to replace some stuff.
dunno what else to do to be honest, sold my old rig for 1200$ last week and the guy that bought it is far away.
All application errors seems to just say "has stopped working" no explanation :/

Edit: found one that might cause problems!

got all the suggestions from here, exept PSU and tower, guess i was tired when i ordered, didnt want those parts at all lol.
Smart when investing 2500+ USD to actually be awake when u do it :D

I now seriously think it's just tripping the processor/mobo shut down temperatures..... My laptop also just shuts down and the actual solution was just replace the fan in my laptop's processor because it's almost not spinning anymore.....

Aren't current processors/mobos automatically shutdown when it reaches a certain temp? (I mean literally just shutdown rather than burst into flames.) I'm quite sure I would not make my CPU run at 90 degrees celsius. Heck I'm already worried if it reaches 70. Even video cards fail when they reach above 90+ degrees, and water boils at 100 degrees. :p

Are you sure you have correctly seated the processor heatsink? Thats like very very hot. Optimally when your computer is idle, it should just be running at 30 degrees or lower. And when busy, should never go beyond 70 degrees celcius. Or you might need to add fans to redirect the air from your processor/mobo to push it outside the case. Even your mobo temps are reaching 80+ degrees celsius.

ye i ordered a new tower today and water cooling, this computer ended up costing me alot more than i expected :p but oh well, atleast it should be good now!

Todays order:

CM Storm Stryker Gaming Big Tower
Corsair AX 860 PSU ATX 12V V2.31, 80 Plus Platinum, Modular, 6x 6+2-pin PCIe, 12x SATA, 8x Molex
Corsair H100i Hydro Series CPU Kjøler 1150/1155/1156/1366/2011, AM2(+)/AM3(+)/FM1/FM2, 2700 RPM, 77 CFM, 37.68 dBA
Razer BlackWidow Tournament 2014
Razer Deathadder 2013 Gaming Mouse 6400dpi 4G Optical Sensor
Razer Goliathus - Small (Control)
Akasa Tim Kit 5 gram, spreader card, 125ml, Citrus based, CPU (CPU paste removal liquid) so i can apply new with the water cooling :p

I actually think that might be the entire problem, i dont really know what i been doing, but the cpu is filled with paste, i put on WAY to much, and it seems i put on so its filled with air pockets as well.
Gotta stop ordering/assembling while working nightshifts, seems ive done more mistakes than i want to admit after 15+ years of computer-building :p
