Urgent! Desktop won't connect to proxy server half the time

On my secondary desktop pc, sometimes when I try to browse the web it says that it's unable to connect to the proxy server. My pc is hardwired straight into the router like my main pc and I don't have this issue on my main pc. The weird thing is that it only happens sometimes. I can sit there and refresh the page over and over and it'll eventually start working again, but then it stops a few minutes later. It does this with all browsers. I've tried resetting the browser settings multiple times and it doesn't seem to help

It's a windows 7 pc with all updates installed. I've done multiple virus scans which turn up nothing and no hardware changes have been made in a long time. Please help me if you can!

  1. why are you using a Proxy Server?

Sounds like you got a bug....

Goto Internet Options and uncheck the Proxy and restart...

    Get Malwarebytes and ADW cleaner...

I'm trying not to. Every time I uncheck the "Use a proxy server" box, it resets itself. I've scanned with malwarebytes and avg numerous times and nothing comes up

    you have a bug...
ADWcleaner is a new one that I've started using... https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Freebie, seems to get a lot of stuff the others miss.

I also use Ccleaner, again free: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Use them and Malwarebytes from SAFE MODE
  4. I'll definitely try that. Thank you for the quick responses!
