PC asking for Boot device after SSD physical installation.

Bought a PC from Cyber power a few months ago and has been working perfectly fine since until recently.
They had forgotten to install an SSD I ordered in it and I recently got around to installing it myself. Only mentioning this because I have no idea if I was missing anything from regular retail packaging, not trying to slander. Just got the physical SSD, HDD screws, and 2 SATA cables. Unsure if it was to come with any drivers discs or other papers etc. This thought will be relevant later.

Installed it as I would assume it would have been installed like any other internal storage device.
Mounted it to the case, connected it to power and the SATA to the motherboard.

Upon starting the PC I was greeted with a Select Boot Device screen instead of the regular startup. A little deterred since I hadn't actually done anything but add another drive I went to select my main drive but lo and behold it was not listed. only my CD drive was listed. Not wanting to boot from a CD yet I did some troubleshooting.
(all of these were tested separately after completion)
- Reseated all power and SATA cables.
- Attempted to unhook both the new SSD and CD drive (Only have one other HDD, the main C drive) and when the select boot device screen showed up, I had nothing to choose.
- Attempted to boot from disc, would state something along the lines "no valid boot found on device" although the correct boot disc was in there, taken right out of the original packaging, brand new, never opened.
- Tried a backup PSU that was 750w (the original was only 600, a little low for my liking)
- Tried another that was 850w

- Attempted to access BIOS during POST on my Motherboard screen
This actually worked and I was shown all of my available boot devices. Almost none of them would work, not even my main drive with windows on it (2.2TB Infinity). edit: The only one that worked was another name for my main HDD "Toshiba DT01ACA200". its listed twice for some reason as both the DT01A... and as the 2.2TB Infinity.

The PC was able to startup fine after that but the read times for the HDD do seem a lot slower than they ever were, although performance on games and such has not been affected. (Tried a bunch of benchmarks and it all seems good)

Although every time I startup this PC, I get this issue. It brings me to the "Select Boot device" screen with only my CD drive listed unless I access BIOS during POST and use the other screen to select otherwise.'

My main questions in short being:

-What may have been possible issues to have caused this whole mess.
-How can I get my PC to boot correctly without having to force boot it from BIOS
-is it possible my main HDD has been affected negatively, and if so how should I go about trying to repair this.

System specs for that PC:

Windows 7 home premium
Sp1
64bit

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
RAM: 16GB
Drives: 1. Samsung SSD 840 Series ATA Device 2. Toshiba DT01ACA200 "
GPU: NVIDIA GeFOrce GTX 760
DVD/CD: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB "
MB: MSi 760GM-P34FX

EDIT: To clear things up, the SSD is for extra storage only, not for my main boot drive. Windows has been installed on my main HDD for some time and I don't want to go switching that all around right now.

Also added MB model in specs.

Did not work. I don't get an option to set a default in that BIOS screen.

Also I'm getting a Screen for my main HDD (2.2TB Infinity its listed as) in POST which never happened before this issue arouse. Forgot to mention that earlier. It also brings me to the default boot page for my PC afterwards. Hitting any keys brings me to the same boot screen.

EDIT: Grabbed some pics! Hope this helps a little

For some reason my Main HDD is listed as 2 separate devices in the BIOS Screen as well.
the last 2 listed on it are the same device.

can you show inside bios boot options

and what is you mb model?

MSi 760GM-P34FX

also, unsure how to get into the BIOS boot options. Apologies, might need a quick tutorial on that.

Cool stuff!
Got in and set the default boot devices, seems to be working fine now.

Any idea why my main HDD is listed twice with different names? One being able to Boot correctly, the other not able to?
Might not be important, but just curious.

Also I'm assuming somehow my boot settings got reset when I installed this new drive? I'll have to remember that for future reference. Never had the issue before, but I guess it does happen once in a while.
