most blue screens are caused by a bad stick of ram or one that is lose. try taking a stick out 1 at time and also switching slots.

Also if you get a chance, next time it blue screens, write what the text says or get a picture.

Hope this helps :)

I have done this already with no success.

the blue screen wouldn't show anymore after the first one, it would just reboot after 2 mins without warning or any error. before i went to work i ran a check disk and once i was home i rebooted my computer and everything seems to be going well so far hasn't rebooted yet.

I had this problem before but i did a DBan and started from scratch (installing windows and games, all that stuff). Worked fine for the first month then today it did it again so i am hoping i can get a permanent fix instead of having to download a heap of stuff all of the time.

Hi Sheep_Code!
I bought the same Motherboard and processor as you.
AMD FX-6300 6 core black editen processor
ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 Motherboard

The seller replaced the motherboard with a new one of same model.
But I got the same F** problem.

After a month of troubleshooting. I tried with another Processor.

My problem was that the PC rebooted randomly, directly or after some minutes in windows.
But everything went well in windows safemode.

So there is some driver that cause the problem between this components

I tried the processor in another AM3+ motherboard(Gigabyte) and it works fine.
Even the same result for the "ASRock 980DE3/U3S3" motherboard with another processor, in this case "Phenom X6 black edition".

I found the cause to the problem but maybe no the true solution,
I can recommend you to either change the motherboard or change the processor.

Before you go spending money replacing your motherboard, clearing the CMOS or even flashing an updated BIOS might be worth your time. I don't know about your particular motherboard/CPU configuration, but I do know that some AM3+ motherboards do require a BIOS update before properly accepting FX series processors.

*Update*
Even if your computer isn't displaying the bluescreen, you should still be able to view the crash log to properly diagnose the issue and know for sure. Try this program to find the logs. It will make life easy.
