CPU Frequency Jumping around

While running an OCCT test for my GPU I noticed the frequency of my CPU was going crazy, jumping from very low to very high in seconds.

I did bend a few pins while installing but managed to get them straight again, could this be the problem.

Could also be high temps.

It's throttling. It could be from temps, but more than likely the crappy VRMs on the Extreme 3 are overloading.

well it depends what CPU and is there overclock

but phases can throttle and temps can throttle

or it is jsut cool n' quiet kicking in too aggressively

even at idle my cpu will constantly adjust it's speeds

Games are not going to draw as much heat/power as a stress test, so it should be fine.
