Hi, everybody! I am having a REALLY annoying issue. The issue: I have done a fresh install of ArchBang on my Acer Aspire One netbook. The S/N is LUS570B1469101582B1601. The netbook randomly keeps going into sleep mode. This did NOT happen with Windows XP. I do not want to be stuck with this issue forever. Thanks for all your help!!!

It says it can't open the file to overwrite when I go to save it. What should I do?

Are you running the editor with elevated privileges? You must be root to write to that file.

It says Please set root's editor in View|Preferences|Advanced.

Open a shell prompt (terminal), from there "sudo nano /path/to/thje/file" will let you edit the file as superuser.

And don't bump your thread every five minutes, you are not waiting at a burger joint!

Have you rebooted and/or restarted logind service since adding the HandleLidSwitch option? logind needs to be restarted for changes to take place...

Can you confirm that the options were actually written to the file? with nano "crtl+o" will write to the file. "crtl+x" exits nano.

Have you tried Ubuntu? Does the same behavior still present? Don't mean to be rude but if you havn't figured out how to edit system files with sudo/root privileges then you probably shouldn't be using an archlinux based distrobution...

Download some LiveCD from mainstream distro e.g. Ubuntu Desktop, and see how it performs.
