Hi all

Just upgraded my gpu and got the xfx 7850, however i didnt take into account i needed 2 x 6 pin pci power connectors.
can i use my 2 sata power connectors with sata pci converters to the 2 pcis on my gpu?

current psu - 300w

Solution
You will have to upgrade your psu to something with a bit more power. I'm assuming you're using a power supply from a prebuilt computer or something, which chances are won't be able to handle a 7850.

Radeon HD 7850 requires 21 Amps on the 12v rail, a 500W PSU minimum & 1x 6pin or 2x 6pin PCIE power

So your PSU would have to output most of it's power 21A/252w on the 12v rail, which is very unlikely for a 300W PSU, even if it was made by Seasonic.

As above, you need a new PSU i'm afraid, the XFX would be the best, but both enough to power a 7850.
