Hey so I've recently been having these catastrophic freezes over the last few days.

My computer will freeze when in Windows, sometimes in the bios and sometimes even right before the post.

Since replacing my motherboard, it has not frozen in the bios.

Below are my specs:

Kingston Hyper X Blu 8 GB (2x4GB Modules) 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 XMP Desktop Memory - KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX

AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

HIS iCooler V H583FN1GD Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/Eyefinity

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready

Here are the solutions I've attempted:

  • Replacing the motherboard
    Updating the bios
Testing the ram slots by borrowing other ram
    System restore
    Updating the drivers
    Memtest - no results

So I've had issues trying to reinstall Windows via bootable usb, perhaps an entire formatting is in order?

Any more ideas would be appreciated,

Thanks

So now I won't get anything at all. No beeps, no bios, nothing.

I reseated everything, still nothing.

As for windows installation, I cannot recall the exact error message but it was something about lacking sufficient internal memory.

I'm at a loss here, even more than I was now. I haven't done anything to change it from last night, so I have no idea what might've caused the sudden drastic change.

Okay, so I just shipped in a brand new PSU, and I'm writing y'all from my proper PC now.

I'm tentatively calling this a victory? We'll see in short order, I'm sure. I'll be back in a day or two to follow up the results.
