Please I have an HP Pavilion g7t-1200 CTO Notebook PC with the following configuration:
Windows 7 ultimate
Processor: intel(R) core(TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40 GHz 2.40 GHz
Install memory (RAM): 6.00GB
System type: 64 bit

I would like to know if the processor is what determines the graphics and if i can change it from intel graphics to nvidia. If it is possible to change, could you kindly advise on the specification I should upgrade it to?

You can't change graphics card in a laptop.
Some laptops already comes with dedicated graphic cards but this kinds of graphics can't be changed

Do you have the model with the AMD radeon 7450M GPU? If not, then the graphics are powered by the processors integrated iGPU.

If you have the model without the AMD 7450M GPU, you may be able to purchase that GPU and heatsink/fan used online. Otherwise, you are pretty much stuck with whatever options were available at the time of purchase since the layout of the GPU circuit and cooling setup are usually model specific.

Here is a link to a Wiki site with several easy ways to confirm what graphics hardware you are using:

There are external graphics cards enclosures that use interfaces such as thunderbolt or PCIe adapters to link to a laptop, but unfortunately these connectors are all fairly new things and unavailable for your laptop.

Am really very grateful for taking the time to respond to my problem.
This is what I found out:

Name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
chip Type: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3)
DAC Type: Internal
App. Total Memory: 1696 MB\
current Display Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60 Hz)

Can i ever get an upgrade for this.

So from what I've read on that specific model, it is technically possible to change the graphics by adding in the discrete graphics card from another laptop of the same model/chassis. However, it is practically transferring 50% of another laptop components into your current laptop chassis, which isn't practical at all.

Here is a link to a video of the laptop being dissembled and then reassembled. It would be a very intensive operation to add in the GPU, not to mention completely voiding any warranty and license issues from the manufacturer.
