So a week ago I bought an r9 290x which I had to rma due to the card having a fault and I replaced it for the Asus r9 290. All was working great till I started playing games for 40 minutes plus mainly fallout new Vegas heavily modded, it would just freeze looping the audio then restart my computer. I have the latest WHQL AMD driver and the latest Vram bios from Asus. I'm having doubts it is the card I installed a new cpu cooler hyper 212 evo and originally I applied way to much thermal paste it smeared abit on the chip and a tiny bit on the corner pin and pin socket it could also be a ram problem. None of my components are overheating and my psu is an aero cool vp650 and my cpu is a fx 6300. It could be that my new gpu has the elpida Vram and some say to clock the memory to 1000 mhz I have not tried this is there any suggestions towards this problem

Solution
Strangely enough, I actually have the Corsair PSU!
But I am certain that the EVGA SuperNOVA is much better, if I was you then I would opt for that one,
:)

Hi Brandyn!
Based on the fact that zero00beat chose my answer as the solution, I assume that this solved his problem. Please could you open up a new thread and list your specifications so that I can check the PSU is the problem?
It would also be helpful if you could tell me the name of the thread!
Thanks! :)
