I recently built a desktop with a friend. He did most of the work because i am quite new to computer hardware. Any way my specs are:

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 6670
CPU: AMD X6 FX-6300(95w) six-core socket
Hard Drive: Seagate Desktop HDD 500gb
Power Supply: TX550M (model: CMPSU-550TXM)

When i play games on my desktop (particularly MMO's) I find the games run very smoothly for the first 5 mins but over time start to slow down (very slight pauses). Why is this? I know its not a connection issue because I recently switched to wired connection and upgraded my network adapter. It is very frustrating. I find when i turn down graphic settings in games it helps.
