Well I bought a new pc about a month or so and i thought of checking it's temperature while it was idle . i checked it using coretemp and found while idling it was about 48-50c . So my question is that is 50c alot while idlng ? By the way my cpu is an i5 4460 haswell .

I am assuming a stock CPU cooler - might consider replacing that.
Check your fans - make sure you have good airflow and the dust is out of the blades and such - make sure they are all functioning. Also blow out your power supply and ensure it's fan is functioning.
Once clean and verified - check the temps. If still hot - replace the cooler on the CPU. Test again.
