Hi
I've been having problems recently with my cable network, the modem I use is a Cisco Model EPC3000.
It started last Wednesday, with ping spikes every minute. First thing I obviously thought was router malfunction, since I'm connected trough a router with cable. But the same problem occurs when I connect directly trough the Modem. I called my local ISP, they saw no signal loss or disconnects from the line in. So they sent me a new modem.
Now I received the new one today, but the problem still occurs. Talking again with my local ISP, with the same response.
I've tried to pinged with another computer directly connected to the old and new modem with the same result, ping spikes every 50-60 seconds.
I have read someplace, that electrical equipment can interfere with the modem signals, not sure how much truth it is in that though.
Anyways, any help is much appreciated. And let me know if I need to provide anymore information, I will deliver.
