I have a computer where the motherboard went bad, and I am trying to get the information off the of the hard drives that are set up in a RAID 0 formation. As far as I can tell the hard drives are fine, but I am trying to get the information off of them before building the new computer. Is there a way for me to do this, short of rebuilding the whole computer?

Thank you

You will not be able to get the data off of the drives without building them back into a RAID 0 array. Your best thing to do is to get a replacement board with similar chipset and then you should be able to boot back up.

If you get the same type motherbd (ie - intel or AMD) as the original there's a good chance that the motherbd will detect and read the raid fine (if the sata ports are in raid mode.)

Alternately if you have a fired with the same type (AMD/Intel), the raid info is stored on the drives and as long as the drives are ok it should read and mount the array. Again the sata ports need to be in raid mode which may prevent his OS drive from booting. Plan accordingly. Again, have something to recover the files to.

Please note that you will again need a drive to recover your files to.
