Having trouble getting this heat sink to sit

There is no studs on the board kinda confused on how it was sitting in place when i took it out.

What brand/model heatsink is that? Are you sure there isn't a plate on the back of the mobo that it's supposed to attach to?

Post your mobo model while you're at it.

That screws into the cpu backplate. It should be attached to the back of your mother board with adhesive. Take the side of your computer case off and look. Some aren't attached with adhesive and will fall out of place when you take the heatsink off.
